General Festival Info

When and where is the Rochester Queer Arts Festival?
The Rochester Queer Arts Festival takes place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Village Gate Square in Rochester, NY. It was started in 2024 by the owners of Drag Me to the Stage! A Rochester- and Buffalo- based production company which produces shows all over the Northeast featuring the world’s more talented drag performers.

What are the festival hours?
The festival runs from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

How much does it cost to attend?
The festival is 100% free and open to the public!

Is the event family-friendly?
Yes! The Rochester Queer Arts Festival is an all-ages event with something for everyone, from art and live performances to workshops and community vendors.

Is the event accessible?
Yes. Village Gate Square is wheelchair accessible. The festival will include sensory-friendly spaces and ASL interpretation on select performance stages.

For Artists & Performers

How can I become a perform or display my work at the festival?
We are accepting submissions from queer artists, drag performers, musicians, poets, and creatives. Visit our Get Involved Page to apply.

Can students be involved?
Yes! We invite LGBTQIA+ students and allies to submit artwork for the Student Gallery. Students of all ages are also invited to perform on our stages and encouraged to apply. Visit our Get Involved page to submit for our Student Gallery, or to submit a Performer Application

Can I lead a workshop during the festival?
Yes! We welcome both free and paid workshops led by community members and professionals. Apply to be a workshop presenter here.

For Vendors

How do I become a vendor at the festival?
We welcome LGBTQIA+ and allied artists, makers, and small businesses. Fill out our Vendor Application Form to apply for a booth at the event.

What does the vendor space include?
Vendor fees (if applicable) include booth space and event promotion. Vendors must supply their own table and chairs unless they rent them from the festival.

Do I have to be LGBTQIA+ to vend?
NO! We need our allies with us now, more than ever! We only require that all vendors must be inclusive, respectful, and supportive of the queer community.

Is parking available?
Yes. Free and paid parking options are available around Village Gate Square. We also encourage attendees to carpool or use public transportation.

Are pets allowed?
Well-behaved leashed pets are welcome in the outdoor areas of the festival. Service animals are permitted throughout the venue.
