What is the Rochester Queer Arts Festival?
The Rochester Queer Arts Festival (RQAF) is a multidisciplinary, all-day celebration showcasing LGBTQIA+ artists, performers, filmmakers, and creatives from across the region.
Now entering its third year, the festival has grown from 40 vendors and 500 attendees to more than 3,000 attendees, filling the entire campus of Village Gate Square.
The festival features Live performances, Visual art, Film screenings in partnership with the ImageOUT Film Festival, a Fashion Show, Interactive experiences, Workshops, Vendors and community organizations, and a sense of community and creativity you won’t find anywhere else.
Best of all, the festival is completely free and open to the public, ensuring everyone can experience queer art and culture.

In 2026, the Rochester Queer Arts Festival is expanding its reach through partnerships with New York State, Monroe County, The City of Rochester, I LOVE NY, and Visit Rochester.
