Step into a runway where creativity refuses to conform. Beyond Labels shatters the seams of expectation, inviting Upstate New York’s queer and ally designers to re-imagine style outside the gender binary. In the spirit of the Festival’s mission to Celebrate Queer Creativity and Community, this high-energy show challenges every “his” and “hers” tag you’ve ever seen and stitches a bold new narrative: fashion for every body, every identity, every story.
Designers: Show Us Your Vision
We’re accepting applications from high-school prodigies, college innovators, and seasoned professionals ready to debut looks that break rules and bend minds. An honorarium is provided for each selected designer, and you set the terms—your models may even keep your custom creations.
Models: The Runway Needs You
Tall, petite, athletic, curvy, disabled, trans, cis, non-binary, two-spirit, agender, any age, any experience level—if you embody the kaleidoscope of our community, we want you on the catwalk. Chosen models receive an honorarium, and (depending on the designer) might strut away with their runway look.
