What is the Workshop and Demonstration Room?
The Workshop and Demonstration Room at the Rochester Queer Arts Festival will be a vibrant hub for creativity, knowledge-sharing, and hands-on learning. This dynamic space will feature 50-minute hands-on workshops and 20-minute free demonstrations, allowing attendees to dive into the world of queer artistry in a way that’s both educational and inspiring.
The 50-minute hands-on workshops will be ticketed and led by experienced queer artists, offering a deeper exploration of various artistic techniques and disciplines. Participants will have the chance to engage directly with the materials and create their own works, making these workshops the perfect opportunity to refine your skills or try something new. Whether you're interested in visual arts, performance, or design, there’s something for everyone.
In addition to these workshops, we’ll also have a series of 20-minute free demonstrations, offering attendees a quick but powerful introduction to different artistic practices. These demonstrations will highlight creative techniques across a range of mediums, from painting and sculpture to dance and theater, providing a taste of what these art forms have to offer and sparking new ideas for further exploration.
This space will also serve as a great place for community-building, as it will be filled with individuals eager to learn, share, and connect. Thanks to Trillium Health’s sponsorship, we are able to ensure that the space remains accessible, welcoming, and supportive for all attendees.
